Last week saw the 2014 Recommended Agency Register (RAR) Awards celebrate their fifth birthday, with a black tie event held at London’s Marriott Grosvenor Square. Famed for being an “award like no other” they are intended to give recognition to UK agencies that excel at delivering the highest levels of service, and are judged by their toughest critics – their clients.
After receiving an unprecedented 8 nominations in categories that included Best Brand Strategy Team, Best Design Service and Best Media Service, Bath-based marketing and communications firm The Agency walked away with the two most prestigious awards. The first celebration of the night came when AgencyUK won “Best Advertising Agency of The Year” and were later described as “an incredibly talented team”. The second and most noted win on the night was the “Grand Prix Award”, which received a late acceptance speech from Sammy Mansourpour, Managing Director at AgencyUK, who was in the bathroom when the winner was announced. He returned to a huge cheer from the crowd as he discovered that AgencyUK had won the main event.
“It is absolutely incredible to win an award that is solely judged by clients in the industry. And a complete surprise for us given we were amongst some of our most esteemed peers, many of which are larger more established agency brands. We have always remained single minded in our belief that advertising campaigns are most successful when they’re integrated, and in todays world built around the digital consumer. We have made a significant investment in our Planning, Creative and Technology teams over the past few years, and this is clearly paying off,” says Saman Mansourpour, Managing Director, AgencyUK.
AgencyUK experienced similar success in November 2016, when they dominated the prestigious Marketing Industry Network Awards, picking up four wins out of six nominations. The team saw off stiff competition from established agencies to take Best UK Small Agency of the Year as well as the Chairman’s Award.
With a promising start to 2017, AgencyUK have also received two nominations for awards at this year’s Drum Marketing Awards including the category of Marketing Agency of the Year. Winners will be announced in May.
