As the summer draws to a close, our Social & PR team reflect on their summer of festivals spent with our client Welsh Lamb…
Late July saw us head backstage to artists catering at V Festival with celebrity chef Luke Thomas, who was cooking up all sorts of Welsh Lamb delights for the likes of Tom Jones, James Bay, Stereophonics’ Kelly Jones, Gregory Porter and George Ezra to name but a few!
And ending the summer in style, we headed to Festival No.6 at the beginning of September, where Welsh Lamb were official sponsors. After a gruelling journey (thanks for cutting out half way through the journey, Google Maps!) we spent 4 days in the beautiful North Wales town of Portmeirion handing out delicious Welsh Lamb samples to hungry festival-goers.
They were also encouraged to enter the social media competition that we orchestrated, in line with the brand’s double L campaign. Punters were given cards with ‘double L’ words on them – Llive, Lloud, Llandscape, Llove, Llaughs, Llush – and invited to capture and share relevant pictures featuring the words using the hashtag #WelshLambFN6 to win tickets to next year’s festival. We’ve had over 100 entries and counting!
Chef Luke Thomas was again on hand to cook up a delicious feast for our exclusive press event (Spiced Shoulder of Welsh Lamb with an array of hot salads), which saw the likes of Glamour Magazine, Telegraph, The Times, Squaremeal, e-festivals and Swiss In-flight magazine attend.
