IQVIA (formerly Quintiles) is a global leader in conducting clinical trials for new pharmaceuticals, having tested and marketed 97% of the world’s leading drugs.

In order to test these drugs, however, you need participants, and that can get expensive. In fact, finding the right number of patients with the right conditions is one of the costliest aspects of conducting a clinical trial. How could they go about getting the participants they needed without spending a fortune?

As their retained brand communications agency from 2008, AgencyUK was able to find a solution, working hand in hand with the team at IQVIA to devise highly effective patient recruitment strategies in both the UK and overseas.

Within the first three months of working together, we were able to reduce IQVIA’s media spend by 70%, and after moving their business to an online database model, our acquisition and retention campaigns became the most efficient on the market.

 

Of course, we didn’t stop there.

We designed and built a brand new website for the brand, incorporating an end-to-end conversion funnel. This, combined with the roll-out of a scalable data management CRM system transferable across every global territory, helped IQVIA build the largest patient database on the planet.

From there, patient acquisition campaigns were deployed across TV advertising, press, social media and direct communications. We also conducted medical awareness campaigns with medical institutions, hospitals, GPs and charities.

Through our campaigns, we were able to set the industry standard for effective clinical trial recruitment strategy, with the PPC and search strategies we developed becoming the most competitive on the market.
