Building an all-new brand of health supplement to break into a competitive market.

Sick of relying on short-term, over-the-counter heartburn and indigestion relief, founder Oli sought to create a natural alternative for the everyday person that offers both immediate soothing and long-term digestive support.

Gut-Smart Cool was born – a calming herbal blend of calcium, marshmallow root, slippery elm bark and biotin in a chewable pineapple-flavoured tablet. The tricky bit? Developing a distinctive, disruptive identity that’d help the brand break into an ultra-competitive consumer health market.

In order to compete with larger high street pharmaceutical brands, we knew Gut-Smart needed a full understanding of their place in the market.

 

After thorough market research, we built a comprehensive product strategy and set about creating a strong, distinctive look and feel and initial awareness-focused campaign strategy positioning Gut-Smart as the average person’s go-to for fuss-free, natural digestion support.

Armed with a distinctive, modern look and feel and a promise to give customers “that good gut feeling”, we developed eye-catching packaging, labelling, website, Amazon storefront and social content design.

Operating within such a heavily-regulated health market, stringent restrictions on the benefits and claims we could make meant it was crucial for our tone of voice to be as strong as possible.
